![]() ![]() I’ve been making some progress on my dissertation proposal which is exciting! Ive formed and had approved my dissertation committee and I’m narrowing in on my actual research methods Caution Nerding Out Ahead With my surgery being May 1, I’ll alllmost be done with this final cohort semester, Dissertation Proposal Seminar and Research design course! I’ll at least get both of my final presentations in before surgery and then finish any outstanding writing after that. Major procedure as in surgery as I’m only on round 4 of 14 for my chemo, and unless recovery pushes back my chemo progress, I have Kadcyla to look forward to every 3 weeks for 10 more treatments (I see you November!) Bye Felicia Hopefully, though, this is the last major procedure I’ll have to have for cancer…ever. Back to not being able to pick up my babes. I’m scheduled to go in on May 1 (Happy birthday, husband□ ) for my bilateral salpingo-oopherectomy and hysterectomy, which also carries a 6-8 week recovery time. The moms have been amazing and sometimes it’s a lot thinking upended their lives for you (even though I know it’s their choice ) but we’re so lucky and grateful, especially since they’ll be around to help take care of me and the boys after my next surgery. ![]() And luckily for us my mom retired and my bonus mom who came out to help with me post DMX is still with us (and retired) and they make a great team caring for the boys while Brandon and I work. Every free second I have from chemo, work, and school work is spent just hanging out with them. They’re playing with toys as they’re intended and absolutely love being outdoors. They’re using ASL and their words to communicate more and more. They’re observing (eek!) and learning so much so quickly. Honestly, this last month has been one of my favorite months with them. A and T enjoying their smash cake (photo credit Tifffany Mahoney Photography) March 16, we celebrated the twins turning 1! We had a great time celebrating them with family, friends, adventures to play places, and cake. After been given the all clear from surgery, life has resumed normal programming, if not seemingly on fast forward. Things have indeed been moving pretty fast lately. And just like that it’s been almost 2 months since my last blog post. ![]()
